Grit bin proposed for Conway Road is due to be put in place this October. We have also been informed that grit/salt for use in the Knypersley area can be collected from the Ladderidge Base on an allocated date and the committee will explore this further.

Members were informed of a letter received from Councillor Christina Jebb explaining that following a visit to the area by Staffordshire Highways Officers a decision had been taken to provide a grit bin for Conway road as the lower section of this road does meet the steep gradient guidelines, but however, the other areas that residents had highlighted as possibly needing a local grit bin facility unfortunately did not.

We may remind councillors in the winter the cost of grit bins is minor compared to blocked roads and the need for snow ploughs.
