Pavements

Raised with David Greatbach (Community Highway Liaison Manager
Staffordshire County Council) in August 2010.

We would like to draw your attention to the state of the pavements in the Colwyn Drive, Orme Road area, (again!) and also the dreadful condition of the pavements in Park Lane from the traffic lights to the mini roundabout.

Response
I have requested that a site visit be carried out by the Community Highway Liaison Officer.

Following this the necessary action will be identified.
This may vary as follows:
1 no further action
2. placement of work instruction for local remedial work to be undertaken
3. forward details to the Pavement Engineer (North) for inclusion on future works programme.

Latest

The Highway Inspectors (HI) have confirmed they undertook a walked inspection along Park Lane and Conway Road. Consequently defects requiring immediate remedial work have been identified by the HI and placed on the system for scheduling as the priority requires.

Following a discussion with the CHLO it is apparent that the footway to the southern side of Park Lane is in need of resurfacing and I have therefore forwarded the details to the Pavement Engineer (North) such that he can consider the location for a future works programme now done July 2011.

With regards to the footways along Colwyn Drive the CHLO considers them to be suitable for preventative treatment (slurry seal, surface dressing) with which I would agree based on the sample photographs of the area the CHLO took for my information. I have therefore also forwarded this information to the Pavement Engineer for consideration in a future works programme.

The Neighbourhood Highway Team will shortly be in the area and work identified for them already includes removal of weeds in Park Lane. The CHLO is therefore to ensure that this work extends to the areas he noted during his site visit today.
