Telephone call from a foreign sounding female who called one of the NHW members by name, he relates the story as follows :

She said that she was calling from the internet protocol centre to inform me of a virus on my computer. The good news was that she could sort it out over the telephone so could I go over to my computer and switch it on. She would then guide me through the process to remove it.

I had heard about this and put the phone down I understand that the "information" given to sort out a non existent virus then implants their own virus which then is used to monitor activity in the future specifically passwords. The implications are frightening.

Please warn all those with computers to be very careful and to do the same as our NHW member and 'Hang Up'
